Isabella and Emma's Day at the Canterbury Schools Gym Comp

On Monday the23rd of June, I went to the Olympia Gym for the Primary Schools Competition for rhythmic gymnastics. If my wrist was not sore I would've competed. But since it was sore I got asked by our club's technical advisor, bronwyn, to help warm up the girls before they competed, and to put them on with their music. putting them on means to stand with them at the edge of the mat before they compete.

I felt good that I was still able to help, but it got a little bit chaotic when more girls kept on arriving at the gym at different times. Here are some photos from the competition. ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓

of the13 girls i warmed up, 8 of them got an overall placing in their level! Emma Logan was one of the girls and she placed first, all my hard work payed off!!!

Wellington gymnastics competition

Gym comp in Wellington

In the weekend Emma and Izzi went to Wellington for a rhythmic gymnastics competition. Rhythmic gymnastics is with the ball and the ribbon, not with the beam and the foam pit. Izzi is in level 6 and Emma is in level 4.

Izzi
On Friday after school,my mum, my sister and I flew to Wellington.

I competed on Saturday from 3-7pm. I did my hoop routine first then I had this massive break because there was the level 5's competing.

I performed my clubs and ball routine and overall I came 1st in my clubs routine, 3rd in my hoop routine and I came 1st overall!!!

After I competed I felt so tired, but when I found out that I came first I couldn't stop moving, I was so happy with my self! And when everyone else walked in the room, I told them I came first they were so happy they just went in straight for a hug! That night we orded Indian food for tea to celebrate everyone. The only bad thing was that in my clubs routine I got carpet burn on the top of my foot and it stung for the rest on the night.

On Friday afternoon,my mum and I  flew to Wellington for a gym comp .

My friend Anna and I competed on Saturday from 12 -4 pm. I did my ribbon routine first and it was amazing,  next I did my rope routine. I only did 1 minor mistake. After that I competed in my free and I didn't do so well! I got first in my ribbon ( a BIG improvement as last time I got last! ) in rope I got 5th and in free I got 10th. Overall I got 7th.

Emma's Bombastic Brownies

Girls swimming sports

On wednesday the 19th the year 7 and 8 girls went to the pool and did swimming sports. we went on the bus there. we had to wait 10 minutes in the stands before it actually starterd. then mr Russle started talking to us about how the day was going to be like. Some girls would hold up a sign with the race number and if it was their number they would go down the the pool side and get ready to race in that case i was number 2,59 and relay. when the first number was called out everyone really nervous. when it was number clap we were off we sprint down the lane like it was a running race but in freestyle .i touched the wall second with emily coming in first we were all really close. we got out of the pool and we got given a card then we took it to the people who took the token then we got given another number if we got to1st 2nd place. the numbers were going through really quickly. 59 was held up which was breast stroke claudia, sarah and me was in that race. we hoped in the pool and ready clap we were going up down up down for 25 meters slap claudia hit the wall first then sarah then me. soon came the relay race 81 the relay team was me, Cara, Georgie, and Emily emily was fist then Georgie then me then Cara emily held us where we were Georgie then i passed 1 person and Cara passed 2 people and we came in 2nd.

swimming sports was really fun and the boys will have a really fun time!!
