ISS Presentations - Day 2

Today saw the second day of ISS ('Inquiring about Space Stuff') presentations.

ICAS Writing Test Success!

Busy week Wrapped up

Another busy week has come to an end. Particular kudos should go to the two teams at the Canterbury OTD current events quiz. 

Our A team of Matt, Aaron and Alex came in the top 30 and beat our school year 8 team. Our B team of Nikhil, Taiiba and Jacob came in the 'top' 70. 

Alex has also had success in our school Speech competition, coming second with her speech on 'Kindness being the greatest invention'. 

Congratulations must also go to Olivia and Sarah who also spoke impressively during the speech finals.

Girls self defence

On Tuesday afternoon for the last 4 weeks some year 7 girls took a self defence course.We talked about a lot of things to do with self defence including what to do when your being followed and what to do when your attacked.We learnt how to kick properly and punch properly as well. Our teacher told us stories about brave girls stopping attackers.
We are now empowered to take over the world as strong independent girls of the 21st century.

New school jackets

The new Casebrook school jackets are here. They are navy blue with a maroon strip down the the side. they have warm lining on the inside and they have the school logo on them. They are just great. you can get them at school wear for $80.

Olivia's lolly cake

Today I brought in a cake but not just any old cake, A LOLLY CAKE! If you have never heard of a lolly cake it's a biscuity goodness with colourful hard yet soft lollies in it. It has a very sweet sickly essence inside of its soft texture. It melts in your mouth when you take your first bite and you'll be begging for more
when it's all gone. Stay tuned for the recipe!
