Awesome work from Harry, Michael,Emily  and Caitlin Mac on the floor and team reserve Sarah in the stands ensured our Casebrook year 8 Cantamath did a great job, coming in the top 25 out of over 90 teams.

Sarah wins the prize for best April Fools prank of the day…there were a few but a fake broken arm takes the cake!

Sumdog Daily Champions!

Congratulations to us as we have earned our first ever daily champion prize on Sumdog. And congrats to Sarah who was the lead student in the competition for 3 days.

Now we can also congratulate Jacqui who is the new leader!
Plus Sarah, Claudia and Nikhil are in the top 5. Outstanding work Room 5!

We have entered into our first Sumdog competition for the year…all going well so far for Sarah and Claudia! Go Room 5!

New World little shop swap

For casebrook challenge I am planning and organising a little shop swap day.

I got the idea from the swaps that I am doing during class, and with my family and I thought how cool would it be to organise a day were the school could swap their little shops. 

So I made posters, and with some help from  Mr Leith, got it into the school notices.

It is going to be on the 31st ( Thursday ) oct. I' m REALLY looking forward to the day and hoping we will do lots of swaps!!!!!!

Sarah's Remake of The Scream

In class we have been investigating Edvard Munch's painting - The Scream.
The class are re-doing it to tell a different story by changing the focal point of the artwork.

ICAS Writing Test Success!

Busy week Wrapped up

Another busy week has come to an end. Particular kudos should go to the two teams at the Canterbury OTD current events quiz. 

Our A team of Matt, Aaron and Alex came in the top 30 and beat our school year 8 team. Our B team of Nikhil, Taiiba and Jacob came in the 'top' 70. 

Alex has also had success in our school Speech competition, coming second with her speech on 'Kindness being the greatest invention'. 

Congratulations must also go to Olivia and Sarah who also spoke impressively during the speech finals.

Sarah Wins Sumdog Comp, Room 5 comes Second!

Congratulations to Sarah who won the Christchurch Sumdog competition this week. A great achievement Sarah. We're all vey proud with your accurate maths!

Well done to all of you who made it into the top 100, but particularly to Sarah, Nikhil, Alex, and Isabella who made the top 10...a special mention needs to go to Alice who got the ball rolling in our class and inspired everyone to get stuck in!

Room 5 came second overall, beaten at the post by St Patricks school. Great work everyone on the class that was able to spend time on it at home and at school.

Sarah Leading Sumdog's Christchurch Competition!

This evening on 4:15 a clock news ... 
The story that gripped the world.. Sarah Lilly from Casebrook intermediate is coming first in the world ( chch ) comp in sumdog!
 We have an exclusive interview with the champion ( so far..) 
“ What was your winning question?” 
  Sarah replied “ 36 / __ = 9 “  
“ How did you feel when you gained champion? “ 
“ I felt great!!”.......... and so on and so forth.
