On Tuesday afternoon for the last 4 weeks some year 7 girls took a self defence course. We talked about a lot of things to do with self defence including what to do when your being followed and what to do when your attacked. We learnt how to kick properly and punch properly as well. Our teacher told us stories about brave girls stopping attackers.
We are now empowered to take over the world as strong independent girls of the 21st century.

Room 5's trip to the Eco drop
On Thursday room 5 went to the the Bromley Eco drop to learn about composting. We all went there in parents cars and it was great that they gave up their time to come and help with the trip. When we got there we met the two teachers Chris and Katie.First they taught us what the ingredients were to make compost. The ingredients were warmth, air, microorganisms, carbon, nitrogen and water. Then we went to a big compost bin and made some compost. After that we scooped it out into another bin to see all the steam that was trapped underneath the compost. we had a break after that to eat morning tea and refuel.after morning tea we made a fertiliser called EM bokashi. To make that we added bran,sawdust,EM1 and Molasses. We did that in groups of three and then equally split it up so we could all have some.We then vacuumed packed it and wrote our names on the bags. The trip then came to an end we all thanked Chris,Katie and the mums who took us there and then we went back to school. Most people enjoyed the trip and had a great time.

Wellington gymnastics competition
Gym comp in Wellington
In the weekend Emma and Izzi went to Wellington for a rhythmic gymnastics competition. Rhythmic gymnastics is with the ball and the ribbon, not with the beam and the foam pit. Izzi is in level 6 and Emma is in level 4.
Izzi
On Friday after school,my mum, my sister and I flew to Wellington.
I competed on Saturday from 3-7pm. I did my hoop routine first then I had this massive break because there was the level 5's competing.
I performed my clubs and ball routine and overall I came 1st in my clubs routine, 3rd in my hoop routine and I came 1st overall!!!
After I competed I felt so tired, but when I found out that I came first I couldn't stop moving, I was so happy with my self! And when everyone else walked in the room, I told them I came first they were so happy they just went in straight for a hug! That night we orded Indian food for tea to celebrate everyone. The only bad thing was that in my clubs routine I got carpet burn on the top of my foot and it stung for the rest on the night.

Sumdog Info
This week, we’ve got a great new game for you: Disguise.
Each time you answer a question, you’ll get something to help you disguise yourself, like hair, glasses, makeup, beards or hats.
If you like it, keep it - but if it makes you stand out from the crowd, give it to someone else.

The AMI stadium league trip
On Sunday the Casebrook league team travelled to the AMI stadium with the opportunity to play at half time during the Canterbury and Wellington match. We didn't get to play Wellington due to technical issues so we were meant to play Shirley Intermediate, but they couldn't make it because they didn't have enough players, so we had to vs Elmwood primary school but at least we got to play . On behalf of the Casebrook league team i would like to thank Mr Russell for taking us. Overall it was as an awesome experience .
